Your Food
We are not going to try to convince you to switch your family to new recipes they might not like. We are here to help you take the food your family already loves – your food – and slowly, in small, simple and friction-free steps, make it a little healthier.

what’s your food?
Good food your family loves.
Did you know that despite all those recipe books, most meals in most families in the UK are the same 20 or so recipes? We love curries, spag bol, chilli, pizza and roasts. We all want our families to eat more veg, but we don’t want too much effort, cost, friction and waste.
We’re all about the food you already know and love. Showing you how to add more veg in small, achievable ways to the meals you make every week without the faff and stress.
Find out more from our experts in this section about slowly improving your family favourite meals, how to make those meals go further, and great tips on everything from soups and spiralising to frozen veg and reducing food waste. We have some Jamie Oliver £1 Meals for further inspiration, and batch cooking tips from The Batch Lady herself.

Making Meals Go Further
We have a secret weapon that can add more veg and fibre to a meal, helping fill bellies and make dinners healthier (not to mention help the planet!), all while saving money!! That secret weapon: beans & pulses. Our expert nutritionist, Zoe Griffiths, walks you through how to make the most of beans, pulses and veg to make meals go further without overly changing your family’s dinners.
Jamie's £1 Wonders
Looking for recipes that won’t blow your budget? Jamie Oliver’s £1 Wonders recipe collection has something for everyone. Featuring Jamie’s tried-and-tested recipes for quick roasts, satisfying stews and tasty pastas, these meals all come in at less than £1 a portion and are sure to become your new family favourites.
Family Favourites
We are not going to ask you to learn a whole new recipe in order to add more veg to your family’s diet. All we are doing is taking the UK’s family favourite recipes, which will likely include some of your family’s favourite recipes, and suggesting small tweaks and simple steps that will add more veg, make it healthier, often cheaper, and create little fuss. We are all about small victories with no battles!
Frozen
Using frozen veg as best you can, whether you have a large freezer or just a shelf in the fridge, can save you money and waste, cost less than fresh, and be a fuss-free way to introduce kids slowly to small amounts of new veggies. Charlotte Radcliffe, nutritionist on our expert panel, walks you through how to make the most of frozen veg.
Food waste
We want more veg to go from plates to bellies, not bins. It saves you money, makes food go further, and helps the environment, too! We’ve brought together some of our experts and content to show you how to reduce your food waste – and stress – in your house.
Batch cooking
Batch cooking doesn’t have to be intimidating! It can be as simple as doubling a dinner you make every week to save you time and money the next time. The Batch Lady, Suzanne Mulholland, is one of our experts and has brought together her top tips to help you start batching the easy way.
Soups
Soup can be an easy, affordable way to get more veg into children. By following a simple formula, homemade soup can be made with pretty much any veg, and is useful for reducing food waste. We’re big fans of soup, which can be packed full of so many different kinds of veg in a way that is not intimidating to kids, making it a simple, cheap and filling way to add more veg to a family’s diet. Find out more about what makes a great soup and some fun combinations to try with our soup guide.
Beans & Pulses
If you feel lost when it comes to the difference between a black bean and a chickpea and what kinds of dishes each pulse works best in, why not check out our guide to beans & pulses from chef Bettina Campolucci-Bordi
Lunchboxes
Lunchboxes can be a great opportunity to add a little more veg to a child’s day. But you want to know that what goes into a lunchbox will be eaten, not wasted. Our expert nutritionist, Catherine Lippe, share some top tips to help make small improvements to a child’s lunchbox that can help immensely.
