Taking your food from good to great!

One step at a time.

Google “Spaghetti Bolognese recipe” and you get over 50 million results. There are plenty of amazing recipes out there, and the last thing you need is yet another one promising you it’s “the best EVER”, “super healthy”, “quick & easy”, “classic”, “authentic”… the list goes on.

We are not asking you to learn a whole new fancy recipe in order to add more veg to your family’s diet. All we are doing is taking the UK’s family favourite recipes and suggesting small tweaks and simple steps that will add more veg, make it healthier, often cheaper, and create little fuss.

Veg Power’s own home super chef shows you how to move in small steps from a ready meal or super simple dish to healthier veg-packed favourites your family will still love.

Family Favourites

Find a meal that your family already loves, or try the most basic possible recipe we have included for each of these dishes, and slowly build up the veg and and make your meals healthier using our easy steps.

For each meal you will find the “steps to better” for your existing favourite way of making a dish, along with tips for how to make that meal healthier and cheaper. There will be a “next steps” recipe that brings all of these things together if you feel ready to give it all a go after following some of the simple steps, along with tips for what veg works best in particular recipes.

We’ve also included tips for how to get your kids involved in different (and small, lower stress and mess) ways with the meals you are making. Kids who are involved in the prep of a healthy meal and engage regularly with veg are more likely to eat them! So we’ve tried to give you simple options for the kids, because we recognise that time, mess and stress are factors here…

These are not recipes as you know them, they are tips to take your own dishes (even if they are ready meal versions right now!) from good to great, one step at a time.
